Arrest Processing

The Arrest Processing Center (APC) is the centralized entry point for all persons arrested in Mecklenburg County by any law enforcement agency. APC operates 24 hours, 7 days a week and utilizes state of the art electronic fingerprinting and digital mugshot equipment.
Certified, experienced, and accredited deputy sheriffs run this facility which is the only one in the state with onsite fingerprint technicians and civilian data entry staff who process the arrest information. This allows the most time efficient response from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) verifying the real identity of the persons being charged.
The Arrest Processing Center has recently deployed a full body scanner as part of the intake processing of arrestees. Now when an arrestee comes into the Arrest Processing Center, they receive a full body scan. This added security precaution that augments the normal pat and frisk style search and suppresses the flow of contraband coming into the Mecklenburg County Detention Center.
The Arrest Processing Center is also home to the Mecklenburg County Warrant Repository. The Repository warehouses all orders for arrest, warrants, and restraining orders issued in Mecklenburg County. After electronically verifying any outstanding criminal processes these processes can be accessed for service in real time. Arrest Processing Analysts accepts outstanding processes, enters, deletes, audits all these processes, which currently number over 50,000 annually.
