MCSO Cares

From collecting items for sick and shut-in seniors and visiting local elementary schools talking about public safety to escorting families for military funerals, the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office places a high value on community involvement. Some of the community programs we participate in and support include:

Police Activities League:

http://www.palcharlotte.org
Police Activities League We aim to reach as much of Mecklenburg County as we possibly can. In our first stage of expansion our plan is to ensure that we are within the communities that need us the most. Currently, that includes the Greenville, and Hidden Valley neighborhoods for both after school, and summer camp.

Right Moves for Youth

http://www.rightmovesforyouth.org
Right Moves for Youth (RMFY) is a school-based, youth development and student support program focused on helping teens develop the skills to succeed in school and life.

In addition the MCSO Citizens’ Academy is offered for citizens to learn more about how the Sheriff’s Office role and duty along with and how tax dollars are spent. The Reality Program introduces young people to the criminal justice system and educates them about the risks, consequences and long-term results of criminal behavior. We believe in our mission/vision/guiding principles, as well as, in our community. For more information about a community service program, contact Officer Lourdes Martinez at 980-314-5002. If you would like the Sheriff’s Office to attend a scheduled event download the Event Request Form to get started.
