The newly-created Traffic Enforcement Specialist was established by Sheriff McFadden with the goal of reducing traffic accidents and pedestrian deaths through strict enforcement of traffic laws and through education. These highly trained deputies will also conduct interdiction on our roadways to suppress the flow of drugs or other crimes on our roadways.
Traffic enforcement in Mecklenburg County is data driven and the Traffic Enforcement Specialist will concentrate on specific problem areas within the county where there are high incidents of violations or accidents occurring. We also listen to the needs of our community and often set up traffic enforcement initiatives based on their input. The Traffic Enforcement Specialist will also work as a force multiplier by assisting other agencies like the North Carolina Highway Patrol with traffic accidents on some of Mecklenburg County’s busiest interstates.
